There Are Many Reasons That Make Cleveland, Ohio, a Good Place to Live
Cleveland, Ohio. The very name used to bring sneers to the face of non-Clevelanders. However, I’ve discovered that what folks used to call “The Mistake on the Lake” is still a very desirable place to call home. Cleveland homes are available in all shapes and sizes and in every price range. In Cleveland houses for sale are located in most parts of town. Continue Reading Here Best restaurants in cleveland
My favorite thing about the town is that it really comes with neighborhoods. If you push across many of the city streets, you see they are lined with old buildings containing small stores. These small stores consist of restaurants which are not a component of any national chain and little stores that sell items you simply don’t find at the mall. There are bicycle shops and karate schools and small groceries.
Another attraction is its diversity. It is a city of great cultural diversity. The faces on the road cover the full variety of human colours, and have origins in countries in all parts of the planet. And these areas reflect this diversity. The same little area might have a Lebanese restaurant, a Russian grocery shop, and Joe’s, a good-old American hamburger joint. The Russian supermarket is very intriguing. There’s no pretense involved. It is genuinely Russian. Oriented toward the local Russian population, every tag, if on a canned good or even a bit of new pork, is in Russian. It’s also full size, with a comprehensive meat counter and frozen food section. At a nearby neighborhood there is a small, conservative neighborhood theater. This area also has a fun little store that sells novelty and retro items like old lunch boxes, bald wigs, and frightening bugs.
The cultural side of the city is rich with opportunities. The Cleveland Museum of Art is a place where art lovers and art haters will come together to enjoy the beauty. Beyond the museum is the charming statue of this Turtle Baby. Inside is a large room full of shining armor. (But don’t try to take any photos of the armor. The No-No Man will tell you it is forbidden.) The Cleveland Orchestra is a world-class symphony orchestra that’s been led by a series of conductors who will live on in music history. Whether you listen to them in Severance Hall or the Blossom Music Center, you will get an evening of musical pleasure.
At the other end of the musical spectrum is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This is a building with many reasons to enjoy it. First is its place. It’s located on the shore of beautiful Lake Erie. The second is its innovative architecture. It adds a beautiful, contemporary look to the skyline of Cleveland. But visitors to the Hall of Fame don’t go there for the view of the lake or a research of architecture. They’re there to ROCK AND ROLL. Every floor is crammed full of significant rock and roll memorabilia. To mepersonally, a girly girl, the most fascinating display is among the many costumes worn by famous rockers in their most memorable concerts.
